Angus Buchan on The JoyRide

Last year Angus Buchan called a ‘Sacred Assembly’ and I had the delight and privilege of interviewing him on The JoyRide, a radio show I was presenting on Midcities 107.4FM. What an honour. You can listen to clips of the show HERE.

Our nation was in the grip of a devastating drought, and one of the main reasons for the gathering was to pray for rain.

This was a headline on 08 September 2016…

SA drought not broken after driest year in history. The drought in South Africa is set to continue after the lowest rainfall year ever recorded‚ and amidst scientific predictions that there is no guarantee there will be sufficient rain during the coming season.” (timeslive.co.za)

BUT GOD!

On 19 November 2016, approximately 50 000 people assembled at the FNB Stadium in Soweto to repent, worship, praise and pray… and soon the rains began to fall (contrary to scientific predictions!). By mid-December there was flooding in many areas. Although many dams were overflowing less than three months later, we continue to pray for rain in areas still experiencing drought.

Why am I telling you this?

IT’S TIME

Angus has called us together again… for a National Day of Prayer called, It’s Time! on 22 April 2017! He has called for one million people to meet on a farm outside Bloemfontein, almost in the centre of our beloved South Africa. We will be coming together from all parts of the country to pray, united as one people, for justice, peace and hope for our nation.

It is a critical time in our land and I urge you to make plans to be there. Will it be challenging? Of course! Will it be uncomfortable? Most probably! Will it be a sacrifice? Certainly. Will it be worth it? Definitely. Will it be glorious? Absolutely!

You may not agree with everything that Angus does or says, and that's ok - but he is called and anointed by God. Whilst I do not believe that this is the last chance for normality in our country, I do believe that Angus is a Father in this nation and I pray that we will all unite to support and honour God’s call through him. I love Angus, and I love his heart. Please pray for him as he prepares – that Holy Spirit will refresh, protect and empower him… and that He will come in power on that day. It is “‘Not by might nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says the Lord Almighty.” (Zechariah 4:6)

Now, Lord, look on their threats, and grant to Your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out Your hand to heal, and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of Your holy Servant Jesus.” (Acts 4:29-30)

Remember that we pray from a place of victory, not for victory. “If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31). “We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37).

And remember… when leaders and rulers rise up against God, what does He do?

He who sits [enthroned] in the heavens laughs [at their rebellion]; The [Sovereign] Lord scoffs at them [and in supreme contempt He mocks them].” (Psalm 2:4 AMP)

Below is a devotional which came today, shared it with permission from Janet Brann-Hollis of Ruach Ministries – which confirmed what I wanted to end with today…

GOD IS LAUGHING!

"Whilst the nation mourns, whilst all seems to be in chaos, God is laughing in the heavens. God knows the enemies plan is about to be destroyed. God is about to trample on the enemy and utterly destroy him. The question must be asked, are you ready for God to laugh through you? Job at one of his worst moments, describes the response all believers should have to any form of destruction, and that is LAUGHTER!

"At destruction and famine you shall LAUGH! LAUGHTER today, is the MEDICINE, is the FORCE, against the enemies of our soul, our body and our NATION! In the midst of all the chaos it takes a step of faith for people to laugh. Won’t you submit yourself to God today, and begin to LAUGH in FAITH, allowing the Holy Spirit to laugh through you? Laughing with intent at the enemy, laughing at this plans, laughing at his destruction, laughing at the hand of God reaching down and delivering your personal situation and delivering your NATION today!

You shall laugh at destruction and famine, and you shall not be afraid of the beasts of the earth.” (Job 5:22)

"He will yet fill your mouth with laughing, and your lips with rejoicing." (Job 8:21)"

Let’s all laugh off the lies and plans of the enemy over our beautiful South Africa! God is good and His plans are good! YAY GOD!

JOYfully

Sue

A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
